Walton added an entry level device to their Primo D series namely Walton Primo D8i. The new member of Walton family is equipped with amazing features. It is packed with Quad-core processor and 512MB of RAM on board. Running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS it features a 4 inch display and has OTA support too. It can also be a good choice for its flash-enabled 5MP rear camera. The pricing is also very attractive – only BDT 3150

Design & Build Quality:

Primo D8i gives a comfortable feeling when holding the device. It can be operated with a single hand. Weighing only 111g with battery, it can easily fit into the pocket. The phone measures 124.5×63.5×10.2 mm. The lens of rear camera and flashlight is on the back part of Primo D8i and front side is covered by the lens of front camera, sensor etc.

There is a 3.5 mm audio port and USB 2.0 port in the upper side. The right side of the phone is covered by Power key and the left with Volume key.

Display & User Interface:

The 4-inch display on the Walton Primo D8i comes with 800×480 pixel resolution. The 4-inch WVGA display ensures clarity so that you have a pleasant experience while viewing the screen or reading from it. Whether you would like to browse online, play games, read or watch movies, the colors look pronounced while the text appear sharp.

In terms of performance Primo D8i comes with 1.2 GHz Quad-Core processor which can function simultaneously at full capacity, the 512MB RAM and Mali 400 GPU ensure a sound graphic processing speed. You can play your favorite games and multitask without disturbance.

Camera Performance:

For selfie-lovers there is also a 2MP selfie-shooter.

This device has 720p video recording facility. The camcorder interface is exactly the same as the still camera one. Once you launch the camera, you simply tap on the key in the top right corner to begin recording.

Audio and Video:

The audio output is mostly clean, not very loud. The headphone comes with the box has an average sound quality.

Connectivity:

In terms of connectivity, the Primo D8i has quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and 3G globally to cover the basics. Also on board is Bluetooth 4.0 alongside Wi-Fi b/g/n with Wireless Hotspot support. Wired connectivity is covered by a micro USB 2.0 port. Primo D8i equipped with Dual SIM card options and both are Mini SIM slots.

Gaming Performance:

Since Primo D8i packs quad-core processor and 512MB RAM, this entry level device is pretty good for playing games. Not a single found while playing Extreme Skater, Battle Dragons, Clash Royale etc.

Battery Life:

Since Primo D8i comes with a 1400 mAh battery, it provides average performance to quad-core processor. With a single charge the device can give you around 4 hours browsing time or you may enjoy HD video for around 4.5 hours.

In AnTuTu Benchmark Primo D8i resulted 17839; which is almost unbelievable for an entry level device ! In Nenamark, it resulted in 56.8

Pricing:

As an entry level smartphone Walton Primo D8i has a good build quality and comes with all the necessary features. In spite of having good configurations, the price is remained affordable. The price of Primo D8i is BDT 3150 only.

Final Thoughts :

Walton Primo D8i is defined by its price. Having some compromises this device sounds good. It is an entry level smartphone and you can’t really expect much from it. To be honest, you will hardly find better devices than Walton Primo D8i at such lower price.
